Playable "Google Doodle" honors 96th birthday of musician LES PAUL

Google's Thursday doodle is celebrating what would have been the 96th birthday of musician Les Paul with a playable guitar logo. The logo has been replaced with the strings of a guitar that will play a tune as you strum them with your mouse. Google said it was inspired to include the record button because Paul, in addition to his guitar work, also "experimented in his garage with innovative recording techniques like multitracking and tape delay," Alexander Chen, a designer (and musician)wrote in a blog post.
Paul was born Lester William Polsfuss in 1915 in Waukesha, Wisconsin. By age 9, he built his first crystal radio—and picked up his first guitar. Four years later, Paul was performing as a country-music guitarist and working on sound-related innovations. Paul built his first electric guitar in 1941, but he is most well-known for the Gibson Les Paul, which debuted in 1952.

After an almost fatal car crash in 1948, Paul worked on jazz-pop music of his own with his wife, Mary Ford. Their number-one hits include "How High the Moon" in 1951 and "Vaya Con Dios" in 1953. In 2005, at age 90, he released "American Made/World Played," which included appearances by a variety of well-known musicians and earned him two Grammys. Paul died at his home in Mahwah, New Jersey on August 13, 2009.

Real Madrid is the best team!! (By Cristian Cruz)

The Real Madrid Football Club, also known as Real Madrid, is amulti-sport organization based in the city of Madrid, capital of Spain. Founded on March 6, 1902 under the name of SociedadMadrid Football Club, participates in the First Division in Spain since its founding in 1929, one of the teams that has ever fallen from the top flight. Formed part, as a founding member of the European Club Association (formerly G-14), an international organization that brought together the most important and influentialclubs in Europe.

Its two historic rivals Atletico Madrid are against who disputes the Derbi Madrid, and F. CBarcelona, who he faces in the classic, being one of the largest gatherings of world football rivalry.

His worth is estimated at 951 million euros and earnings are approximately 351 million euros per season.
                        Shield
The first coat of Madrid Football Club had a very simple design. It consisted of interlacing the three initials of club, ie the "M", the "F"and "C", which went dark blue background on the white shirt.
The next change in the configuration of the shield was not until1920, when King Alfonso XIII granted the club the title of Royal. Forthis reason it added the Royal Crown,
stylized initials were the same, and the club became known as Real Madrid Foot Ball Club. In turn, for the official parties, adopted the emblem of the city alongwith the Bourbon crown.

After the Spanish Civil War, in 1941 the coat recovered the Royal Crown, but also kept the home stretch. In addition, the colors were changed, which would be the predominant gold, and the club was renamed Real Madrid Club de Fútbol.

T O R R I J A S !!!

Ingredients:
1 loaf of bread (a day or two old), 750 milliliters of milk, 160 grams of sugar plus the amount needed to sprinkle the toast, a slice of lemon peel, 1 stick of cinnamon, ½ vanilla bean, 3-4
eggs and extra virgin olive oil for frying mild flavor.

How to make them:

Put the milk in a saucepan with sugar, lemon peel, cinnamon and vanilla. Put the fire and when it starts to boil, turn off the heat; cover the pan and let infuse fragrance ingredients. Reserve the milk to cool, then strain and put in a container that will be practical for dipping bread.

Beat eggs until foaming a bit and add two or three tablespoons of the infused milk, and beat again. Cut the bread into slices about an inch and put plenty of oil in a frying pan, but not too hot.

Bathes slices of bread in milk, turn them over to coat well but not dripping.
Then pass them through the beaten egg and then into the pan. Fry toast both sides until golden brown and when to withdraw, set them to remove excess oil.

Once the toast is fried, sprinkled with sugar if you want you can mix with cinnamon.

Leave toast to cool before tasting.

Friday, April 1st -- Henry VIII and his six wives -- Test!!

The wives of Henry VIII were the six queens consort married to Henry VIII of England between 1509 and 1547. They were, in order:
Because annulment legally voids a marriage, technically speaking Henry would have said he had only two 'wives', but his marriage to Queen Catherine of Aragon was declared legal and valid during the reign of his daughter Queen Mary I. It is often noted that Catherine Parr "survived him"; in fact Anne of Cleves also survived the king and was the last of his queens to die. Of the six queens, Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn and Jane Seymour each gave Henry one child who survived infancy—two daughters and one son, all three of whom would eventually acsend to the throne. They were Queen Mary I, Queen Elizabeth I and King Edward VI. Catherine Howard and Anne Boleyn, Henry's two queens who were beheaded, were first cousins. Several of his wives worked in at least one of his other wives' service. Anne Boleyn worked in Catherine of Aragon's service; Jane Seymour worked in Catherine of Aragon's and Anne Boleyn's service; and Catherine Howard worked in Anne of Cleves's.

Springtime!!!

Spring is one of the four temperate seasons, the transition period between WINTER and SUMMER. Spring and "springtime" refer to the season, and broadly to ideas of rebirth, renewal and regrowth. The specific definition of the exact timing of "spring" varies according to local climate, cultures and customs. At the spring equinox, days are close to 12 hours long with day length increasing as the season progresses.
Spring can start on different dates in different regions.
In most North Zone locations, spring months are March, April and May (Summer is June, July, August; autumn is September, October, November; winter is December, January, February).
The vast majority of South Zone locations will have opposing seasons with spring in September, October and November

Saint Patrick's Day - March 17th

Many Irish people have emigrated from Ireland to the United States over the last few centuries. They brought St. Patrick's Day with them. St. Patrick's Day is a serious religious holiday in Ireland, but it has been changed quite a bit in America.
Today in America people enjoy St. Patrick's Day by wearing green. In fact, if you don't wear at least one small green item, school children may pinch you. Probably the most common symbol for this holiday is the shamrock. Since the shamrock has three leaves, thousands of years ago St. Patrick (a religious leader) used it to teach the Irish people about the three parts of God. Today many people wear a shamrock design on St. Patrick's Day because it is supposed to bring good luck.
On this day many people also enjoy going to a pub and drinking beer. They tell jokes and have a good time. People who don't come from Ireland like to pretend they are Irish, too. Some cities hold parades or marathons. It's not a very big holiday, but it can be a fun one for the people who want to enjoy it. It is very different kind of celebration from St. Patrick's Day in Ireland.

Go to the "COMMENTS" and answer the questions!!!
Enjoy St. Patrick's Day!!

7th Anniversary of Europe's Worst Terrorist Attack

The Madrid train bombings consisted of a series of coordinated bombings against the Cercanías system of Madrid, Spain on the morning of 11 March 2004 (three days before Spain's general elections), killing 191 people and wounding 1,800.During the peak of Madrid rush hour on the morning of Thursday, 11 March 2004, ten explosions occurred aboard four commuter trains. All the affected trains were traveling on the same line and in the same direction between Alcalá de Henares and the Atocha station in Madrid.

Nationwide demonstrations and protests followed the attacks. The predominant view among political analysts is that the Aznar administration lost the general elections as a result of the handling and representation of the terrorist attacks, rather than the bombings per se. After 21 months of investigation, judge Juan del Olmo ruled Moroccan national Jamal Zougam guilty of physically carrying out the attack, ruling out any ETA intervention. The September 2007 sentence established no known mastermind nor direct al-Qaida link.
Four years later in 2008, the popular music group, La Oreja De Van Gogh, released their album "A las cinco en el Astoria" with a song titled "Jueves" that served as a remembrance to this tragic incident.

Rafa Cid has decided to write about Tunisian Revolution. Thank you Rafa!!!!

The Tunisian President, Zine el Abidine Ben Ali, has left the country due to the inability to stop the protests. A plane, carrying the president on board, took off at 18.15 last week from the international airport of Tunis-Carthage escorted by the Tunisian Air Force, according to local sources, reported Ignacio Cembrero.
At the moment, nobody knows the final destination of his journey. After being rejected a first attempt to land in France, the plane was authorized to take land and refuel at the Italian airport in Cagliari, in Sicily, but Rome has not confirmed that Ben Ali is on board.
